Important tips for poultry farmers to prevent diseases

KWhen poultry have good immunity, feed conversion ratios are good, production efficiency is higher, and consequently, economic returns increase. Therefore, it is essential to have a good understanding of the factors that enhance bird immunity.

These factors can be summarized as follows:

1. General health of the poultry, which means ensuring the flock is free from pathogens, whether viral (through preventative vaccination with immunity-boosting vaccines according to recommended programs for the breeding region) or bacterial (through the periodic use of preventative medication doses).

2. Suitable climatic conditions. The flock must be raised in a suitable environment with appropriate temperature, humidity, ventilation, and lighting. This depends on the breeder having a high level of technical expertise in breeding principles and high health standards.

3.  High-quality feed is provided, containing standard proportions of proteins, energy, minerals, amino acids, vitamins, and required feed additives.

4. Select vaccines with high immunogenic properties suitable for the climatic conditions and the epidemiological situation of the diseases affecting poultry. These vaccines have a significant impact on the success of vaccination campaigns and increase the chances of an immune response against viral diseases and epidemics.

Herein lies the foundation for successful vaccination and immunization: selecting the appropriate strain and program, which have consistently proven in the field to provide higher immunity, resulting in a high feed conversion rate, higher production efficiency, and increased economic returns.
